Graflex 16 Movie Projector (8871) PageProduced 1960'sThis is a 16mm optical sound movie projector. It uses a tube amplifier with 50 to 15000 hz response using an 8" woofer and 4" tweeter in the side cover. Looks like around 20 feet of cable, so the speaker can go by the screen. Ads say "Easy loading and unloading, even in the middle of the reel". We'll see. Said to work with old, bad films, which are all I'm likely to find these days. May have to hack the socket to use a current, cheaper bulb. Supports 2000 foot reels. Pushbutton controls might be problematic. Bulbs: (projection) Bulb Model- DKM, now selling for around $25, widely available. 10PK (sound) see a box of 10 for $50 on Ebay. #44 (threading) automotive type widely available. Now I have to find some cheap 16mm films to watch with it. 9-29-25: Won in Goodwill auction for $21.00 plus frt, or $85.58 total. Description only said it "powers up". 10-15-25: It arrived this evening, 55 pounds of projector and packaging. Came extremely well packed. Apart from lifting it, I'm thrilled. It all appears to be working. Even the bulbs. I cleaned it up a little and shot the pics below. The volume control is scratchy, needs some contact cleaner. The rubber feet on the bottom could use replacing. Don't have any 16mm movies to run through it yet. It's a model 820, code C 9 A A, with 3 separate volume and tone controls. I couldn't find an assembly date or previous owner info on it, even on the bottom. Have not removed the back yet, imagine it needs a clean and lube.
